Fad or not, juicing can be a brilliant way to sneak in some extra veggies and nutrients with minimal effort. Below are 5 of my favourite go to recipes. If you want to up the anti you can always add extras like flaxseed, milled hemp, spirulina powder or chia seed to any of the juices below. Or keep it super simple, up to you.

  1. Ultimate Green Juice- The words ‘green juice’used to fill me with dread but this little number changed my mind completely. Super creamy and minimal ‘green’ taste:
  • Handful of Spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple
  • Small chunk of cucumber
  • Half an avocado
  • small chunk of ginger
  • squeeze of lemon

Cover ingredients with water, whizz and enjoy.

2. Breakfast on the Go: I love this slightly more filling little fella when I’m in a rush in the mornings or just as a snack in the afternoon.

  • Handful of Strawberries
  • 1 Frozen Banana (makes things extra creamy)
  • Half a cup of Oats
  • 1 tbsp of Almond/Peanut Butter ( I prefer almond but each to their own)
  • 1 tsp of Cinnamon

Fill her up with almond milk, blitz and enjoy.

3. Quick and Easy: Literally couldn’t get any easier, great for the super fussy too (child and grown-up alike).

  • Handful of Spinach
  • 2 Bananas
  • Handful of frozen/fresh berries of coice

Cover with water and away you go. Super simple!

4. Stress Reliever: This bad boy is great at bed-time or if you find yourself in need of a little chill pill.  Full of magnesium, this one will leave you feeling relaxed and ready for the pillow.

  • Handful of Spinach
  • 3 Dates
  • Half an Avocado
  • 1 tsp of almond butter
  • 1 tsp Chia seeds

Make it up with almond milk and float away.

5. Chocolate Town: For when cravings come a knocking.

  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 2 Dates
  • 1 tbsp Almond Butter
  • 2–3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tbsp Flaxseed
  • Handful of Mint (optional, but super yummy)

Fill with almond milk and thank me later.

There just some examples of the never ending world of juices and smoothies. Let your imagination and taste buds take over here. If you’re stuck, then spinach, banana and some kind of veg like cucumber or a berry (frozen or fresh) is generally a good place to start. Experiment, get creative and before you know it, you’ll be craving the refreshing goodness on a daily basis. 🙂
